Note the AVY wit the Del Sol and the Siggie wit the Eclipse.
What one do you think is better? :?:

stick with the eclipse. That del sol's body kit makes it look like its puckering up to kiss some V8s tail end [smilie=5butthead.gif]

yeh, the front end on the del sol is just a bit too much. if it was a bit flatter against the front (horizontally), it would look 10x better.

Most ricers suck... some know what they're doing.

some riced cars come with the Uncle Ben's factory special as well, so can't fault them. for instance, ya can't really fault someone that buys a Sentra SER g-spec (or whatever they've changed them to this year) for being a ricer, particularly if his car is stock.

Think it was V-Spec, but yeah..

I know some stupid ricers.... then I know some 11 second (turbo) and 13 second (NA) civic sedans too.. hehe

Ok, as the owner of a japenese car, I feel the need to set something straight.

Rice is a term that is meant to apply ONLY to cars that are flashy but have nothing under the hood. Show but no go, if you get what I mean. If a car looks flashy, but can back it up, it is not a Ricer or a Rice Burner.

yep, exactly. but ricer also incorporates people with all go under a civic (for example), but the body panels are all different colors. yet, he has a 600 exhaust system and a rear spoiler similar to something found on a F1 car. seriously, you can have all the HP in the world, but those spoilers are very rarely needed (you know, the aluminum ones that stick up 3 feet off the back of the car). even if they are causing drag and down force, if it is enough to keep the back end on the ground, then it is probably going to have enough force to rip itself off of the trunk of the car, especially since you know 80% of those are just mounted to the trunk with no reinforcement.

Funny you bring that up, consider this; rear downforce.... front wheel drive car...

Purely aesthetic.

you know, a rice burner isn't exactly a bad thing. All that means is your car can smoke a ricer. So basically anyone who is fast is a rice burner. My mustang is a rice burner.

I was reading a magazine a few years back, and I liked how they had made there point.

I don't remember what car they where testing one of those big spoilers (wing) with, but said "The wing added stability to high speed handling of the car, but due to the add drag (wind resistance) the car's top speed is now 22mph slower."

I couldn't help but laugh at anyone who put one on their car & actually thought they were improving the performance.

Hehe idiots... do some suspension work, can get the same benefits, and maybe even a higher top speed too..

not necessarily, IMO rice is ANY "asian" made car, its not a derogatory term. Same with motorcycles, a suzuki, Yamaha etc are rice rockets or rice burners.

Ricer on the other hand, is what you call someone you are describing.

under the newly-assumed incorrect meaning of rice, i would be offended if anyone call my car rice, but yes, leezard is right, rice refers to anything made in Japan......
it started way back when the japanese motorcycles started becoming popular and the guys on harleys began to call the bikes rice burners (b/c they mocked them as if they were fueled by rice)......
the saying went something like this: better my sister in a whorehouse than my brother on a riceburner....
so yes, rice is not really a derogatory term, just matter of fact, as long as the person so loosely throwing around the term knows what it means, which nowadays seems to be an impossibility
