Signature Sizes

Hey guys. It has come to recent attention that some signatures are taking up way too much space. 1-2 banners are alright, 3 + is too much. If you fall into the latter category, it would be greatly appreciated if you could tone things down a bit.

Just so you know, when november comes around I'll be down to the one small one. :) I know I'm not techinically included in that announcment, but mine is too large anyways.

As many forums out there I think you should limit the signature to "small" graphics (NOT banners). And no more than 255 characters. Absolutely NO COMMERCIAL signatures, as this is a free-forum for the mod enthusiasts, not for the advertisers.
Also limit the size of the avatars. All this graphics really get you lose the focus on the topics.
This is my humble opinion.

what you speak of is not an easy task as phpBB only allows you to change the character length limit of the signature. for instance, i could set it at 50 characters or something, but then nobody would really be able to use it. probably the best thing to do is for everyone to take it upon themselves to keep their own signature small and be on the lookout for members who have signatures that distract from the forum. if you see a signature that is entirely too large, just let us know here. :-)
