(that's the military phonetic alphabed if you're wondering.)

Okay. I have an AMD 1800+. Now, until recently, for some reason, my PC was UNDERclocked from 1.53 to 1.15, or, more specifically, from 11.5x133 FSB to 11.5x100 FSB. (I dunno why I haven't done anything about it until recently.) So, a night or two ago, I finally decided to fix the problem using FuzzyLogic IV (I have an MSI KT3U mainboard). I check all the stats after doing so, and surprise of surprises--there's no notable difference in temp or voltage (about 3 Celsius from 59 to 62). (Can't say I'm sure how the voltage is relevant--like I said, I'm a n00b.) So, for the hell of it, I decided to take the multiplier up a notch to 12. No noticeable difference in temp or voltage, again. I take it up again to 13--still no difference. Now, then, I take it up to 14...and the whole system stops responding. I've tried everything in my n00b arsenal--rebooting, cutting and restoring power, etc.--and the system still will not give me more than the sound of the fans running. (In other words, the lights are on but nobody's home.) Anyone think they have a solution? I'm 15 years old and kind of broke with no income, so buying something new is kind of a last resort for me.

There will be a "CMOS" jumper on the motherboard, if you have the manual, it will be shown in there...

Judging by this review, it's circled in the above picture.

"The board is essentially jumper-free with only the ubiquitous clear CMOS jumper making an appearance behind the third fan header."

Just unplug the power cable, unplug the ATX power from the motherboard, there will be 3 pins there, 2 of them shorted by the plastic jumper, just move it over one so you're leaving one of the pins that was covered, open. Leave it there for a few seconds, then move it back to the original position, hook everything up, and see if it'll post for ya..

Well im not an amd fan but I know that if my P4 was runin over 55celsuis, Id be flipin out. It could be that your cpu temp is too high. Or maybe your memory is out of spec, for example your memory could be ddr 400 and its tryin to run at ddr 433 or the memory timings could be set too low.

Using my P4 as an example, I would image that you shouldnt need to take the cpu voltage up very high, as you can see in my signature how much ive o\c mine, I have the voltage set at 1.625v and my idle temp of 37c.

Just to clarify Silenze's post, clearing CMOS is how you set the BIOS back to default settings.
