I started playing this game hoping it would be decent like the first one. I hate ricers and all the flash from the game but the driving was fun, so I had to play.
I just wanna say that EA did something right this time. They managed to combine Underground 1, Gran Turismo 3, and a little bit of Grand Theft Auto 3. The city is alive and well, you can drive where ever you want. That's a little GTA3 style there. They added new cars that the first one didn't have including an 05 Mustang, 3000GT, RX-8, and more. They even included both the 350z and the Infiniti G35.
The biggest change that I noticed was the introduction of SUVs. Why would you put SUVs in a game like this? I sure can't tell you. I have a Cadillac Escalade sitting on 18" Spinners (haven't unlocked the 22s yet!) 0-60 is about 24 hours so you sure can't race with them. Other's so far include the Hummer H2 and the Lincoln Navigator.
The tuning is freakin' awesome. You get to drive your car on a real dyno and watch it run while it draws the graph. Then you can go in and tweak anything you want. I was adjusting Air/Fuel mixture through the ECU along with the Turbo air mixture. You can fully customize the suspension and everything. It's crazy. They might have taken Gran Turismo a step further here.
There is so much stuff to do its insane. The only drawback so far is that I've gotten kinda far and it won't let me finish this sponsor I'm working for. They don't have a stats page that tells you what races you've done and how many. So now I have no clue what races I have left for this sponsor. Kinda lame, cause I'm driving around racing for like 300 bucks to save up for my 3100 dollar suspension.
All in all, this game rocks if you can get over the Rice factor.
