I came across this over at Tweaknews while reading a review of the Logitech 5500 speakers:

"But excess can also get you into some rather weird and bad situations also. Take me for instance, I am happily testing the system volume levels out in the Tweaknews office by gaming and listening to a little Lil' Jon & the Eastside Boyz and I thought all was well..........until the next morning.

At 9:00am I was woken up with a rather loud knocking at my suite's front door. Opening the door revealed the building's property manager handing me a noise violation complaint that was filed and the manager's office by my next door neighbor. This would sound perfectly right seeing I was easily hitting 130+dB when testing the system at higher volume levels but there is one interesting thing I have to inform you about my neighbor...........

She is completely deaf........No joke, she can't hear a thing. Nadda...Zilch....

What I guess caused her to file the complaint is that I cleared 13 pictures off of the adjacent wall where our two suites attach. And yes, that wall was the same wall where the subwoofer was placed. From what I was told, I vibrated that wall so badly that almost all of her paintings, photos, trinkets or whatever vibrated and fell down."

HAHAHA

I'll never understand the process of turning the subs up, then down, then up, then down, then up, then down. All this while you and your friends stare at them. WTF?

I thought about taking my sword downstairs and putting it through those subs.

Just revel in the fact that each time they turn them up, they take a couple of weeks from the lifespan of their hearing.

I have come to the conclusion that the only real use of subs is to supplement an otherwise shitty sounding speaker system. That, and to alert everyone within a half mile or so that you have no taste.

At least it worked for me once....some earplugs and one of those compressed air boat horns, strategically used while the neighbors are sleeping, can get results.

Also, open headers on your 'Stang in the middle of the night gets the point across, though it may also get you a citation for disturbing the peace.

They also take another few months off their period of residency. Because everytime they wake us up in the middle of the night is followed up with a complaint to the leasing office. Two more strikes and they're out of here.

We live in an apartment complex, so playing with the car would be a strike against us. There are other methods, though. I haven't had a chance to play Dance Dance Revolution in a long time.

I was going to suggest taking up jogging and doing jumping jacks in the apartment... maybe some basket ball?
