ok i am by most peoples accounts a computer god! i went computer shopping at newegg and i had a freind on the phone and he said he was having fun listening to the master at work. But when it comes down to it i know how a computer works, know bascily what every part dose, just not how to change it at any rate here is my questions HOLD On

3drmark 2005 said i have a cpu that supports HT but it is not enabled
and
sandra 2005 said SiSoftware Sandra Name : P4C (Northwood) Celeron 130nm 2GHz+ 1.525V (2.69 ghz/ 400 mhz)
So if i have a celron how do i have HT? i know that cpus that cant perform to their specs are sold as lower cpus so is that what happened, or did somthing else?
if i have a mother board that supports HT, will it decte that a Cpu (my curent one or any p4 with ht) and enable it for me or will i have do that mannually?
What happens if i enable HT on a mother boad, but acpu dose not support it?

reasonabbly what could i over clock my cpu to, and my FSB to?

What else should i know?

Thanks
NOoB Chad

as for the HT part, I will let one of the Intel guys respond to that. im strictly AMD myself :)

for the overclocking reference, you might wanna check out our recent guide, posted here:

http://www.ocia.net/articles/overclockingguide/page1.shtml

if that leaves you with questions, feel free to ask specifics and we will go from there. 8)

hyperthreading is generally enabled by default, but you can check in your BIOS to make sure. There should be an option there for it.

as far as Sandra saying Celeron, i haven't a clue, but it could have something to do with your hyperthreading ordeal

Im pretty sure that there isnt a single celeron that had HT, heck theres a lot of P4's like mine that dont have it.

I think that HT only comes on intel cores with a 800mhz fsb.

I use Hardware Sensors Monitor http://www.hmonitor.com/ gives ya the mainboard, cpu, chipset and harddrives temps along with the speed of the fans pluged into the mobo and voltages.
