Hi ,
I was wanting to try a RAID 0 setup for the first time
I have 2 x 80Gb Maxtor SATA HDD and 1 x 120Gb Maxtor SATA HDD.
Someone told me before that i cant install Windows XP on the RAID 0 array , is this true ?
If so can SuSe or Fedora Core 3 be installed on it ?

I know a friend runs raid over some SATA drives, he had some trouble getting a dual boot setup with linux, mainly due to finding the raid drivers for it. I think he ended up running Suse 9.1 off its own drive.
As for the Raid 0, he was running that I believe, but once again, I think you have to supply the proper raid drivers during setup. I myself don't have any specific experience with this though.

As long as you have the right drivers it should work for the respective OS. In windows when setup is loading, at the very begining there is an option to press f5 or f6 to install SCSI or Raid drivers. I had to use this in order for windows to see my raid/sata controller. I didnt set up raid but windows did see my sata drives after that.
